About Us

Our Mission

To provide our patients with the best possible treatment in a General Medical Practice setting, using the most up-to-date and proven methods, materials and equipment; emphasising prevention of disease as a higher ideal than the actual treatment of it. This philosophy is best achieved in a working environment where we recognise the patient as being ‘the most important person in the practice’ and where we work in an ethical and responsible manner, in an environment of teamwork, with mutual respect for each others abilities and functions.

North Nowra Medical Practice has been providing high quality healthcare for the local community since August 2005 after the merging of two pre-existing practices.

The practice has continued to expand since that time and is a thriving practice offering a variety of types of primary care including General Practice, skin cancer medicine, the care of patients in local nursing homes,  and a number of types of medicals including aviation, dive and pre-employment.

We are committed to the training of medical students with both Phase 1 and 3 students from the University of Wollongong Medical School attending the practice regularly. We have in the past also accepted students from John Flynn Scholarship students, Sydney University, UNSW, University of Newcastle, and Notre Dame University, Western Australia.

We also are a training practice for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), training General Practice Registrars  in order to complete their training to be qualified General Practitioners.

Several of our doctors are Senior Lecturers or Associate Professors of the University of Wollongong.

We all aspire to continue to provide a high standard of  care to residents of the Shoalhaven and hope to do so in the years ahead.
