Rail Medicals
Dr Rudd is an Authorised Health Professional who offers CAT 1, CAT 2 and CAT 3 Rail Medicals.
CAT 1 Rail Medical
Applies to safety critical workers on the rail network for whom sudden incapacity may result in a serious incident affecting the public or the rail network. (eg single operator train driver)
Includes:
- Health Questionnaire (general history, ESS, AUDIT, K 10)
- Clinical Examination
- Vision testing
- Hearing screen
- Resting ECG
- Cardiac risk assessment (includes fasting bloods requirement)
- +/- Drug screen
CAT 2 Rail Medical
Applies to safety critical workers on the rail network for whom fail-safe mechanisms or the nature of their duties ensure sudden incapacity or collapse does not affect safety of the rail network. (eg signallers)
Includes:
- Health Questionnaire (general history, ESS, AUDIT, K 10)
- Clinical Examination
- Vision testing
- Hearing screen
- +/- Drug screen
CAT 3 Rail Medical
Around the track personnel who operate in an Uncontrolled Environment and may be at risk from moving rolling stock.
Includes:
- Health Questionnaire
- Musculoskeletal screen
- Vision testing
- Hearing screen
- +/- Drug screen
