Dive/HUET Medicals
Both recreational and commercial dive medicals can be completed at North Nowra Medical Practice. These are medical assessments that are conducted to ensure that you are medically fit for recreational SCUBA diving.
Please discuss fees and charges with our Receptionists when you book your appointment and note that they are NOT Medicare rebatable. The practice can be contacted via phone or send an email to medicals@nnm.net.au.
HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) medicals are also offered which is a specific medical required prior to HUET training.
HUET Medicals are conducted by Dr Rod Sloane and Dr Andrew Sleeman.
Recreational dive medicals do not require pathology or radiology testing prior to the medical, although the examiner may occasionally request tests or a specialist review after the medical when needed to confirm fitness.
Recreational dive medicals are conducted by Dr Rod Sloane and Dr Andrew Sleeman.
Commercial dive medicals often require further testing including spirometry (lung function testing), audiology (hearing test), and chest Xray. Both spirometry and audiology are available at North Nowra Medical Practice on the day and Xrays are available locally through radiology practices.
Please bring any paperwork or documents required to be completed by the organisation who has requested you have the medical. You will also need to bring the report from any chest x-ray that you have had within the past five years. If you are unable to locate your chest x-ray report you may be required to have another.
Commercial dive medicals are conducted only by Dr Rod Sloane.
